Welcome and let me first thank you for choosing TheAutoBookStore, everyday we strive to get you the manuals you need, as fast as possible and at the lowest price. If you are reading this becuase you have already placed an order, let me first appoligize for any problem you have encountered and see what we can do to fix it.
Where's my Manual - We ship items the day they are recieved if they are recieved by around 2 pm EST time. Orders placed after that ship the next day. We offer many shipping options with the cheapest being Media Mail. Media mail can take 10-14 days to be delivered and does not have a tracking number. Of course if you choose any other shipping option such as UPS/DHL these packages can be tracked door to door. Priority mail has delivery confirmation, normally these packages get scanned at some point between us and you, but may show an electronic notification and nothing else until it is delivered.
Why is my book on backorder - This can happen in one of two ways, our stock is depleted and we are simply waiting on the next shipment to arrive via truck. Or in the case of manuals by Bentley Publishers, they are out of stock, and we have an order pending with them and they cannot supply us a ship date. In this case typically the manual is completly unavailible at most places. Of course when this occurs you always have the option of waiting for the item to arrive, or recieve a full refund.
Speaking of refunds - what's the policy on that - Some items are Non-Returnable if opened, these would be mainly the Bentley Manuals on CD/DVD shipped on the sealed up boxes. Once these have been opened, you own them. Everything else can be returned or exchanged assuming it is in resellable condition. Books which are shrunk wrapped have a 20% restocking or exhange fee if there are opened. If they are not opened, no restocking fee will apply. Of course if we made a mistake and sent you the wrong item, then no restocking fee would ever apply and we would pay the return shipping charge. Otherwise all shipping charges are your responsibility. Before sending any item in for a return or replacement, you need to get a Return Authorization Number from us, simply email us at email@example.com, tell us what we need to do to make it right, we will record that information and get the number and instructions to you.
